We’ve all felt it. And I always ask these questions: What do these glimpses of joy mean? What might they be pointing us to? To folks who are not yet followers of Jesus, I acknowledge that they might not mean anything. But wouldn’t that be the ultimate tragedy, if the richest, most exquisite moments of our lives, when we are overcome with transcendent longing, didn’t point to anything, but instead were just a cruel joke played on us by our brains. On the other hand, what if they do mean something?
